Questions, answered

Do I need an electrician?

No. Lasse needs no wiring at all.

What does “fit check” mean?

Text us a photo of the space before you order. We'll tell you which size to choose. It takes a few minutes and it's free.

What if it arrives damaged?

We ship a replacement first, before you send anything back. A photo of the damage is all we need.

What if I don't like it in my room?

You have 30 days from delivery to return it unused, in its original packaging, for a full refund with no restocking fee. For a change of mind, the return shipping is paid by you.

Will the finish match the photos?

Very closely. Colours can look slightly different on different screens, and natural or hand-finished materials vary a little from piece to piece. If you'd like a closer look at the finish before you order, text us and we'll send more photos.

How long does delivery take?

Usually 6 to 15 business days. We prepare your order in 1 to 3 business days, then it ships fully tracked with USPS, UPS or FedEx, and you get a tracking link by email as soon as it leaves us. Your estimated delivery dates are shown in the delivery box above the Add to cart button. Orders placed after 5pm ET start the next business day.

The product

What is it made of?

The body is Handmade Xuan rice-paper shade on a black steel tripod.

Will it look like the photos?

Colors and metal finishes can look a little different from screen to screen, and lit glass can look warmer in person than in a daytime photo. If it arrives and is not as described, we send a free replacement or refund you in full, and we pay the return shipping.

What finishes can I choose?

Color: US PLUG, UK PLUG, AU PLUG, EU PLUG. Pick yours next to the price. Warm metals like brass and gold suit cream and wood interiors; black sharpens a lighter, modern room.

Is it on sale?

Yes. It is 42% off right now: $121 instead of $210.68. Delivery is free on top, with no minimum spend.

Are bulbs included?

It has a built-in LED, so there are no bulbs to buy or replace.

What color is the light?

Warm white. Warm white around 2700K feels like candlelight and suits living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms; 3000K is a touch crisper for kitchens and work areas.

Size and placement

How big is it?

Width: Shade Ø ~14 in / 36 cm. Height: ~55 in / 140 cm tall. The size guide above draws it to scale in a room next to a 5 ft 9 in person, so you can see how big it really is.

Where should it go?

Beside a sofa or reading chair, slightly behind your shoulder, so light falls on the page and not in your eyes. The bottom of the shade should sit near seated eye level, about 40 to 42 in from the floor. In a corner, it lifts the whole room in the evening.
